Oksana Mirzoyan – Baku 1977

Oksana Mirzoyan was born in Baku, Azerbaijan, former Soviet Union. Her family became refugees after fleeing the Baku pogroms and immigrated to the United States, eventually settling in Detroit, where she continues to live. Her current body of work explores the nuanced cultural and social impacts of the Nagorno-Karabagh conflict throughout the South Caucasus region. The experimental short, Baku 1977, is an iteration of this ongoing project.
