Hannah Perry

Hannah Perry produces short films, creates installations, prints and live performances. Her films are a collage of sounds and footage, which she documents herself and collects from other disparate sources. Eroding distinctions between her own footage and that of others, Perry’s videos evoke an in-between space, somewhere between intimate confession and public performance, occupied by a generation inclined toward hyperactive distribution.

Perry edits at a pace which pulsates and fast- forwards, slows down, rewinds and reverses. Through excessive filtering and compression, the audio and video quality deteriorates, while faces and conversations are drowned out in the noise.

Recent exhibitions include a solo show 'Rage Fluids' at the Kunstlerhaus, Graz, and GUSH at Somerset House, London. Perry’s work has been shown also at ICA Off-Site, London; Zabludowicz Collection, London; MOMA Warsaw; Royal Academy of Arts, London; and Stedelijk at Trouw, Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam. In 2014, Hannah Perry was invited to compose a performance at the Serpentine Gallery, London upon an invitation of Hans Ulrich Obrist.
