Kara Gut

<p>Kara Gut (b. 1989, Cleveland, Ohio, USA) is a multidisciplinary artist whose primary focus is image-based, digital media. She received an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2016 and is the recipient of the Cranbrook Art Museum Committee Acquisition Prize, the Firestone Photography Award, and the Peter MacKendrick Endowment Fund for Visual Artists. Her recent solo shows include Presence at IRL Gallery in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Crystal Magic Weapon at Open Space, Baltimore, Maryland.<br><br>Recent group shows include The Edge of Reason, Phillips Auction House, New York; F®iction, Hopkins Hall Gallery, Columbus, Ohio; LaCroix Digital Oasis at the Chromatic Festival in Montreal; Resonant Flesh at Space Heater Gallery, Brooklyn, New York; and Pixel at Granite City Art and Design District, Granite City, Illinois. Her work has been screened most recently at the 2019 Milan Machinima Festival and the Detroit Center for Contemporary Photography, and featured in Refigural Magazine and Is This It? magazine. Gut currently lives and works in Columbus, Ohio.</p>
