Quayola

<p>Quayola (b. 1982, Rome, Italy) lives and works in London. Throughout his practice, Quayola creates hybrid spaces of animated painting and sculpture. Critically acclaimed for his immersive video installation work, he investigates the paradigms of old and new, and the real and artificial. His artistic practice often explores how we look at original masterpieces and collections – particularly the tension that exists between primary experience and a mediated viewpoint.<br> <br>Past exhibitions of Quayola’s work include V&A Museum, London; Park Avenue Armory, New York; Bozar, Brussels; National Art Center, Tokyo; UCCA, Beijing; How Art Museum, Shanghai; SeMA, Seoul; Bienal, São Paulo; Triennale, Milan; Palais de Tokyo, Paris; Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya, Barcelona; British Film Institute, London; Cité de la Musique, Paris; Grand Theatre, Bordeaux; Ars Electronica, Linz; Elektra Festival, Montreal; Sonar Festival, Barcelona; and Sundance Film Festival.
