Chloe Wise Book Launch
2016-10-27 11:08:24
Division Gallery (Canada) and Galerie Sébastien Bertrand (Switzerland) present the first monograph by Chloe Wise. Featuring 138 full-color plates of artworks and additional colored photos chosen by the artist, Chloe Wise presents a thorough overview of the young artist's exuberant early career.

The monograph is framed by curator Jeffrey Deitch's essay, Concrete Comedy, contextualizing Wise amongst Pop Art, her peers, and incipient technologies. Loreta Lamargese's essay Wanting, wanting, and wavering looks to how Wise's work encapsulates queer pleasure under neoliberal politics, while Eric Wareheim's conversation with Wise, his oft-collaborator, is ripe with an off-kilter brand of humor. The book is complete with an original artwork-cum-dust jacket, a concentric slippage of the artist into her first literary foray.
