<p>Eva Papamargariti's Acedia featuring this week on Joyous Dystopia on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/thebasssquared/">@thebasssquared</a> is now online.</p><p></p> <p>Acedia is a sort visual poem that deals with the notions of boredom, apathy, repetition, time and the thin lines between action and idleness. </p><p></p> <p>Using the sloth animal as a main protagonist and metaphor at the same time, the work attempts to twist and subvert elements and tropes that stand on the verge of paradoxical conditions which are quite visible in a quotidian frequency on our digital and physical 'ecosystems' - building simultaneously a continuous sense of 'joyous dystopia'. </p><p><br></p> <p>Image: Eva Papamargariti, Acedia, Courtesy of the artist and Daata Editions</p>
